Welding the Offroad Grit RV name into a chassis rail, in full helmet and welding gloves

Our chassis

The right chassis starts with your tow vehicle.

Every Offroad Grit RV sits on one of four chassis. Each one is matched to a different kind of towing and travel, from staying light behind a mid-size 4WD to carrying everything over the roughest tracks in the country.

Escape

Lightweight and towing-friendly.

3,500 kg ATM · upgrade to 3,800 kg

The Escape keeps the weight down so you can stay within legal towing limits behind a lower-capacity tow vehicle. It's the easiest of our vans to tow and park.

  • 3,500 kg ATM, upgradeable to 3,800 kg
  • Lengths from 18' to 21'6
  • Suits lower-capacity tow vehicles
  • Easy to manoeuvre, better on fuel

Edge LTC

Lightweight truss. Flat floor.

3,500 kg ATM · upgrade to 3,800 kg

The Edge LTC is a lightweight truss chassis with a completely flat floor. With no wheel boxes inside, the floor plan is wide open, so we can fit layouts the others can't, like a centre ensuite, and still keep the weight down.

  • 3,500 kg ATM, upgradeable to 3,800 kg
  • Lengths from 18' to 21'6
  • Flat floor with no wheel boxes, more layout freedom
  • Example: a 21' rear club with centre ensuite at 3,000 kg tare

  • 4,500 kg ATM
  • Lengths from 18' to 24'
  • Heavy-duty truss with a flat floor
  • For serious off-road and long-term remote travel

Side by side

Compare the chassis.

ATM is the most the loaded van may weigh. Check your tow vehicle's towing capacity and tow ball rating before you choose. After something under 18'? Talk to us and we'll see what Mark can do.
