Progressive Payments In The Caravan Industry

When you invest in a custom off-road caravan, you’re not purchasing something that rolled off a production line last week.
You’re commissioning a build.
At Offroad Grit RV, every van is built to order. Layouts vary. Electrical systems vary. Suspension choices vary. Finishes vary. No two builds are identical.
Because of that, the way payments are structured matters, for both you and us.

Why We Use Stage-Based Payments
A custom build involves engineering, fabrication, structural assembly, electrical systems, cabinetry, and final fit-off. Each stage represents real labour, real materials, and real progress.
Our progress payment structure simply aligns payments with that physical progress.
You are not paying for a promise, You are paying for completed milestones.
What That Looks Like
Our stages are tied to genuine build progress:
• Deposit – Secures your build slot and initiates engineering and material ordering
• Materials Stage – Major components and long-lead items secured for your van
• Chassis Stage – Fabrication underway
• Shell / Lock-Up Stage – Structural assembly complete
• Fit-Off Stage – Cabinetry and systems installation underway
• Completion – Final inspection and handover preparation
Invoices are issued only once those milestones are reached.
We do not invoice months in advance without visible progress.
How This Protects You
In light of recent industry instability, we understand that customers want reassurance.
Here is what matters:
• Payments are tied to physical build progress
• Your materials are ordered specifically for your van
• Production numbers are controlled, we do not overextend
• We do not rely on future customer deposits to complete existing builds
• Cash flow is aligned with actual production stages
A financially stable builder is a safer builder.
Stage-based payments ensure your build is properly funded at every step without placing unnecessary risk on either party.
Built Like Construction, Not Retail
Building a custom caravan is closer to building a home than buying a stock item.
In construction, payments occur at:
• Slab
• Frame
• Lock-up
• Fit-off
• Completion
A custom off-road caravan follows a similar process. Each stage reflects measurable, tangible progress.
Progress payments are standard practice in environments where each project is uniquely built for one client.
Independent, Stable & Responsible
Offroad Grit RV is independently owned and operated.
We intentionally build to order rather than carrying large volumes of unsold stock. We keep overheads controlled. We grow steadily, not aggressively.
That approach allows us to:
• Maintain stable production
• Avoid excessive debt
• Focus on quality over volume
• Protect the longevity of the business
Financial stability is not about appearing large, it’s about operating responsibly.
A Shared Commitment
When you enter a build with us, it is a partnership.
We commit production capacity, labour, materials, and time to your van.
You commit through staged payments that reflect real progress.
It is a transparent system designed to protect both sides and ensure your build moves forward confidently.
If you would like us to walk you through the stages in more detail, we are always happy to explain them clearly.
Confidence in the process matters just as much as confidence in the product.
